Retired Army General Wesley Clark thinks he's going to "Swiftboat" John McCain. Good luck with that General. There's a Grand Canyon-size gap between the integrity and character of John McCain and John Kerry. General Clark's comments give credibility to, and remind us of, reports from military members serving in the Clinton White House that they were often belittled and looked down upon.

Typical of the liberal mind, the Editorial Page writers at the Star Tribune want to keep talking about how to solve the energy situation (or lack of energy situation) facing the country. In this editorial the STrib says lifting the ban on off-shore oil drilling is worthy of debate. Debate? Let's play the role of Global Warming Alarmists for a second. Let's declare the debate over and do something instead of talking about it? There are much more settled facts in the energy supply situation than there are in the ongoing Global Warming debate (and it is ongoing despite the sky-is-falling alarmists attempts to end it).

As a follow up to what was posted here 6/20/08, it turned out Barack Obama's seal was intended for one time use. Let's see, Obama's campaign had someone design and produce a seal, that seal was vetted by Obama's senior advisors, that seal was then placed on a podium prior to a speech and after the initial (negative) reaction was received his campaign announces the seal was only going to be used once? There's an arrogance present in Obama and in his campaign that needs to be vetted more than has happened so far.

If you have any doubt how dangerous the Global Warming Alarmists are, here's a story that should remove that doubt. Imagine someone calling for you to be put on trial because you express skepticism about conclusions that others have reached. Incredible!

Did you hear that Barack Obama unveiled a new seal to use on podiums where he is delivering speeches? The seal is structured similar to the Great Seal of the United States, with some interesting changes. The phrase "E Pluribus Unum" (Out of many, one) to "Vero possumus" (Yes we can). Rough translation:

Yes we can raise your taxes!
Yes we can regulate your life more!
Yes we can take your profits!
Yes we can redistribute your wealth!
Yes we can change your standard of living!
Yes we can let the government decide who gets healthcare and how much!
Yes we can . . . AND WE WILL!!!

Let the backtracking begin. Despite saying earlier that he would accept public financing for his campaign, Barack Obama's campaign has announced it will forego public financing so it can raise private funds instead.

Thank you Charles Krauthammer for relating to the American public what the main stream media is refusing to report about advancements in Iraq. There have been major developments in Iraq that are not receiving the attention that should be reported. Why? They don't fit the narrative of leading Democrats.

Mike LeMieur of Little Falls and David Allan Pundt of Baxter received District 12 Republican endorsements for the respective House seats they are seeking. Mike O'Rourke of the Brainerd Dispatch has the story.

It's over (supposedly)! Hillary Clinton suspended her campaign for the Presidency on Saturday. While conservatives can breath a sigh of relief that Mrs. Clinton may not be the next President, her speech indicated she's not through. She used the word "suspended," not "ended." She also used the phrase, "this time" implying there will be future tries. Enjoy the reprieve from the Clintons while it lasts.

In case you missed it, yesterday Barack Obama declared that he will seek re-election in 2012. Just one problem with that: One first has to be elected before one can be re-elected. One complaint about Sen. Obama has been that he started campaigning for President as soon as he made it to the U.S. senate. Now he's campaigning for re-election before election. At some point Mr. Obama will have to stop campaigning and start building a record in one job before pursuing another.

The Taxpayer League of Minnesota has released its scorecard for the 2008 Legislative Session. See how your legislators voted on tax legislation. Note the friendliest legislators to taxpayers are Republicans.

This is a great day for conservatives and for our country! Hillary Clinton will not be the Democratic candidate for President in November. She may continue to fight and argue that she should be given the Vice President position on the ticket, but Sen. Obama would be making a huge mistake to have the Clintons anywhere near the White House should he be fortunate enough to win the Presidency. This won't happen often, but here is a sincere thank you to the Democratic Party for having the courage to reject the Clintons as their nominees for President--remember the Clinton's motto: You get two for the price of one.
