As Republicans look for a leader who can eloquently make the case for true conservative principles, we may want to find our own Daniel Hannan. Who is Daniel Hannan? Well, in three-and-a-half minutes he dismantled the UK Prime Minister who is taking Britain down the same path that President Obama, his administration, and the Congress are following: Bankrupting their countries. Listen to what an elected conservative should sound like.

Now that you know what a trillion dollars looks like (here's the link for a refresher), let's look at the federal government's bailout scorecard so far . . . simply staggering, dangerous, and irresponsible. To top it off, the federal government is reporting today that the budget deficit for this year will be $2.6 Trillion dollars, that's going to be what our federal government has spent beyond what it will raise in tax revenues in just one year. Words cannot describe what is going on.

Ladies and Gentlemen, if you do nothing else today please take a moment and comprehend what a trillion dollars looks like. Our government is now throwing "trillions" around when billions used to describe government spending. Do we really understand how much that is? You will be shocked by this representation! And this is just "one trillion."

Senator Christopher Dodd cleared the air today about who was responsible for $165 million in bonuses going to AIG executives. He did it. And ...here's the video...

This is unbelieveable. Today the Obama Administration "floated the idea" that maybe the government could bill private insurance companies for injuries our soldiers suffer in combat. Here's the story as reported by the Washington Post. Think about the mindset that is revealing itself in this proposal. Men and women who are injured while serving our country would see their insurance companies (if they're insured) billed to help cover the cost of their care. This is absolutely absurd and today the Commander of the American Legion expressed his outrage at the "idea." Rightly so.

Morrison County Republicans held their annual convention today at Carnegie Library in Little Falls, MN. Among the decisions made was to change monthly meeting dates from the third Monday each month to the third Thursday. The decision was made to avoid conflicts with other organizations hosting their meetings on Monday nights. Our next meeting will be Thursday, April 16th, 7 p.m. at Carnegie Library in Little Falls.

What was Michael Steele thinking? Rush Limbaugh gave a rousing speech to close the Conservative Political Action Committee Conference in Washington, D.C., and Mr. Steele, the new head of the Republican National Committee went on national TV, and well, here's what Rush had to say to Mr. Steele . . .
